Annie Hawks (May 28, 1836 - January 3, 1918) was eminence American poet and gospel hymnist whose compositions number over 400.[1] She contributed to several accepted Sunday school hymnbooks, with give someone his best-known song being "I Want Thee Every Hour".

Early life and education
